Cactus, Eagle and Flag drawings, 2005
Ritson is a sculptor from the Royal College whose work has been shown as far afield as Los Angeles, Mexico City and Amsterdam. Her degree show presentation featured bold wall and floor-based sculptures in rubber, wood and paper that played with the scale and function of man-made objects (a satellite or a stretch of highway, for instance) like a deceptively sophisticated cartoon. Accompanying prints presented omputer-generated imagery extrapolated in the sculptural pieces, providing a kind of key to her practice of accumulation and juxtaposition. Solo show at London's David Risley Gallery in autumn.
