Each member of the selection panel is assigned an MA degree show from which to select artists who they think are making outstanding new work.
Phil Toy is an artist based in Bristol and a member of Spike Island. He has had many group and solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Currently, he is working on a collaborative two person project to take place in Berlin and in England.
He has worked on several committees - programming, selection, buildings - and was chair of Top Floor studios (part of Spike Island) for two years. He also chaired Artspace during the year that it transposed into Spike Island. He is interested to develop a curatorial role in addition to extending his practice in sculpture and installation.
