Curator - Chapter Gallery, Cardiff

Hannah Firth is Curator at Chapter Art Gallery, Cardiff. Since taking up the post in 2001 she has developed a programme of activity that includes commissions, residencies, touring, publishing and collaboration.

Recent exhibitions have included Olaf Breuning: They Live, Over & Over, Again & Again for the Contemporary Art Centre, Vilnius and Bedwyr Williams: Tyranny of the Meek. In 2005 she developed and launched May You Live In Interesting Times, Cardiff's inaugural Festival of Creative Technology, a three-day event in collaboration with Bloc, Creative Technology Wales. The biannual Festival included a two-day conference and a city-wide programme of residencies and commissions presented in public and private spaces including The Millennium Stadium and the National Museums and Galleries of Wales.

Prior to her work at Chapter, Hannah was Managing Editor for a-n Magazine (1994-1998) and curator at Stills Gallery in Edinburgh (1998-2001). She continues to provide freelance editorial support for selected a-n projects, contributes news and reviews to a variety of publications including CIRCA and Public Art Review, and is also on the Board of TRACE, an installation art space run by renowned performance artist Andre Stitt.

Hannah is Curator for Wales at the Venice Biennale of Art 2007.
