Curator

Vivienne is a contemporary, interdisciplinary curator and producer with over ten years experience within the contemporary arts. Her expertise is derived from the performing arts and digital media genre whilst spanning the complimentary fields of visual arts and event based projects. She has pioneered the genre of cultural re-enactment and more recently live-digital programming with several profile works staged in Trafalgar Square. She previously worked as Director of Performing Arts and Digital Media at the ICA, London 2002 - 2006, as the Head of the Artistic Programme and Education at CCA, Glasgow 2001-2002 and Director of Live Art at the ICA 1996-2001.

Her on-going curatorial portfolio as 'Vivienne Gaskin Cultural Management' includes; Artist Agent for John Squire's artwork (formally of the Stone Roses); European Interactive Art Consultant for Scott Snibbie and Sona Research Studios LA; MA Academic Advisor for Arts Management at Birkbeck University where she also teaches 'Managing Digital Arts', she also acts as a mentor for BBC education on-line, working with younger people aged 12-18. In September, Vivienne will be the writer in residence on an artists Zero Gravity flight in September this year.

Vivienne has had published a number of essays and interviews on contemporary art journals including Schnitt Magazine (essay on re-enactment) and 'everything Magazine,' where she was a co-editor for 2 years. She has contributed chapters to: The Millgram Experiment (ed Steve Rushton, Jan Van Eyke Accadami, 2002) and Vitalogy: Carlo Zanni (2005) (zanni.org/html/books/mono/book.html).
