Artist and writer
Alan Carter has a history of artistic practice, and administrative work in arts organisations. He has written about his own work and the work of others, publishing articles in magazines and books. He is currently developing a series of video pieces as a performance artist about language and the performative moment. He is involving in the process people marginalised from dominant cultural and intellectual exchange. Critical acclaim from writers include.... 'Sustained by a rare and spontaneous magic... exhiliating to watch him walk so bravely across the boundaries of performance and reality' ... 'emotionally and intellectually demanding work which tackles issues of power, sexuality, representation and disability head on.'
