Two events in September and October 2008 accompany Ways of Looking: a month of photography in Leeds and Bradford.
| | | Bradford, 25 September, 2008 Venue: Impressions Gallery, Bradford, from 6pm With guest speaker Gerry Fialka, who set up the PXL THIS film festival in California. |
| | | Leeds, 14 October, 2008 Venue: The Engine House Cafe, 7.30pm 'The Validity of Photography within Contemporary Practice', with guest speaker Patrick Henry (Director, Open Eye Gallery) in conversation with Dr Derek Horton. |
Cafe Artistique, as part of Ways of Looking, is brought to you by Lumen, Impressions Gallery, Leeds Met Gallery, and Axis.
Cafe Artistique involves a key-note speaker invited to give a short presentation on a theme, which is then opened up for debate. These are evening events, held at informal venues (cafe/bar) and a local artist is commissioned to respond to each discussion. Events are free, and all interested are welcome.
Listen to what was said and see each artist-in-residence's response to the previous events.
Including why Heath Bunting was arrested on his way to Cafe Artistique;
a grilling with Sacha Craddock; whether Mark McGowan was speaking the truth, and lots more.
... even more Cafe Artistique events will take place in 2008
