The 2011 recipient of the Axis/Florence Trust Award is Chelsea College of Art & Design MA graduate Hanae Utamura.

Hanae has a funded studio space at the Florence Trust, London, which will allow her time and space, free of other pressures, to create a new body of work. Hanae's residency began in August 2011 and will continue until the end of July 2012, when all the studio-holders will show their work in a final exhibition.
