Axis is pleased to announce the recent appointment one of the north west’s most highly regarded creatives, Wini Tse, to its Board of Trustees.
Tse is creative partner and co-founder of Manchester-based digital agency Code Computerlove, and it is hoped that his expertise in this area will support Axis in cementing its reputation as a digital leader in the arts.
Sarah Fisher, Chair of Axis, said: "We are thrilled to have someone of Wini's experience and standing join the Axis Board. As a founding director of one of the UK's leading digital agencies, he brings his creative insight and business acumen to Axis at the very moment it is most needed. Like all arts organisations, we must find new ways of generating revenue and I have no doubt that Wini will help us do just that."
Wini’s passion for contemporary art extends well beyond his work at Code. A regular speaker and participant at design events in the region, Wini recently took part in a DNA (Designers Northern Alliance) event and a Design Initiative Portfolio Day, by Futures, supporting up-and-coming designers in the industry. He is also responsible for Code Computerlove’s graduate programme and Institute of Computerlove - a mentoring and continual programme of development for final year design students.
Wini said, “I think it’s imperative that we support the amazingly talented artists we have in this country as the sector in my opinion not only helps fuel the UK's creative industries but also acts as a catalyst for many more things such as urban regeneration and social education. Art is the cultural expression of society and one of the most powerful and accessible vehicles of communication in our increasingly complicated world and I hope that my appointment to the board can help Axis extend their reputation for promoting creative excellence and innovation and realise their ambition to be an internationally admired platform for contemporary art."
