Managed websites designed specifically for artists can be a great springboard to get your work known, as you can tap into a ready-made arts audience.

Although many of these sites charge a subscription fee, the benefits can far outweigh the cost if you choose wisely.

When looking at subscription websites for artists, consider what you’re provided with as part of the agreement.

  • How many visitors are there to the site, who are they and where are they?
  • How highly does the site rank on search engines?
  • What does the site do to promote contemporary art and support its members?
  • Is it possible to speak to other artists and create supportive networks?
  • Are artists selected to high standards and would your work sit well alongside other pieces presented there?
