Open Frequency is a monthly showcase of contemporary artists selected from across the UK by curators and writers, offering a broad-based perspective on contemporary art practice. It provides a professional 'radar service' for curators and commissioners, and is a channel through which you can keep in touch with new developments in contemporary art.

Open Frequency foregrounds the relationships between artists, curators and writers and this is represented by linking the artists’ Open Frequency profile to the biography of the Selector. New writing is commissioned specifically for the programme, presenting opportunities for curators to share information about new artists, or new projects by more established artists.

New artist profiles are featured on the Open Frequency main page each month. The profile comprises a 300-500 word text written by the Selector, with additional contextual material written by the Axis curator, and a group of 6-10 artworks/ projects supplied by the artist.

After being presented in the ‘Current Artists’ section, the profile is moved to the Open Frequency Archive
