Places to see before you die, - 2008

Places to see before you die was originally designed as a set of 8 postcards, more recently it has been exhibited as a series of large prints. The texts refer to popular tourist destinations and landmarks. Rather than showing the landmark itself each print displays text conveying the distractions felt by a fictional visitor.

Collecting postcards of iconic locations is almost like 'collecting' the locations themselves, ticking them off a list of places one should visit. Yet when visiting landmarks it's easy to be distracted by concerns from one's own life thus feeling like you're not able to achieve the right level of reverence or appreciation for the site.
