Kumihimo Viperidae Cabinets, 2007

The handmade Kumihimo braids depict snakes from the Viperidae family. Each is a representation of the characteristic colour pattern of a specific species, scaled to half its length.

Information cards (shown opposite) are displayed alongside the work.

Secret compartments, in the handmade cabinets, contain hand-coloured, concertina style booklets that inform the collections and removable perspex doors allow individually boxed specimens to be removed for closer inspection.

66cm x 30cm x 5.7cm (x1), 35cm x 30cm x 5.7cm (x2)
