I am London, 2007

While the contemporary 'Mondrianesque' glass building seems to dominate the composition, it is the sum total of the abstract composite elements that hold the work together. Both foreground and background appear as a flattened plain and it's the awkward juxtaposition of the orange structure, the billboard and the flash of yellow in the top right hand corner that give the piece its depth and dynamism. This image is a celebration of the work of the late philosopher Jean Baudrillard whose theories on postmodernism have founded the main ideas that lie within my practice.
