Stations of the Cross - Jesus is crucified (4th panel of 8), 2006

Two soldiers nail Jesus to the cross; the lettering gives the narrative. I do not depict Jesus at all but rather set out to portray what he felt. This is to tell a familiar story from a different perspective to make us feel more about it and have some sense of the suffering he endured for us as if we were in his shoes. The price of redemption if you grasp it. The panels have toured England and Wales and remain on permanent view at Burton Agnes Hall in the East Riding of Yorkshire near Driffield. Another set of 8 panels may be seen there, The Call of the Disciples.
