Stations of the Cross - Jesus is Condemned, 2006

Low relief panel 7'x 4'. First of a set of eight based on gospel narrative from a protestant perspective. See other images. At Burton Agnes Hall, East Riding of Yorkshire. The figures are drawn from life, or based on drawings by the Old Masters, especially Michaelangelo, Carravaggio, and Rodin. The figures are naked as we are naked before God and aspire to being restored to Eden where we can be naked and unashamed. Also it enables us to read the body language better which is essential to communicating a human story.
