Toddy Hoare

Going Home, 1992

A mood sculpture: Churchill described depression as 'a black dog at ones heels'. Exhibited Mall Galleries 1997 and sold out. Original title was "A Bloody Awful Day" and it draws on my own experiences when unemployed. See other entries with a similar approach having been asked to do variations on this theme. Over the years I have owned and worked several labradors, one of which retrieved my troop sergeant's pistol in a marsh at night.
