The seamless garment, 2000

'The seamless garment' is one of a series of sculptures called 'Interpretations'. The series is ongoing and the works may be viewed singly or as a collection growing in number. In Carolyn Steedman's 'Landscape for a Good Woman' (Virago 1986) she defines interpretations as 'the places where we rework what has already happened to give current events meaning'. In the series 'Interpretations' the works feature something you might know, something you might recognise, or something you might feel has happened before.
