Jotta commissioned limited edition print for their edition space. This print utilises mass produced cut glass ornaments, ashtrays and bowls. The process references the aesthetics of and the relationships between commonplace materials. We recognise the forms used, as they are familiar to us, yet we are not quite sure where to place them. A direct print is taken from the base of these objects, which is usually unseen. To focus on the hidden facets of these objects, reveals the functional base as a decorative feature. This is highlighted, placed on a modest section of wood and reproduced using another mass produced format.
