The piece consists of four artificial roses fixed to the wall at head height (average 170cm). Three of the roses appear to have been turned into stone, or is it stone, and are these actually flowers, these are the questions I want the viewer to ask.
Both are in face imitations, or stone and roses respectively. The sap, or leak as it appears is made from dripping latex carefully from the root of the plant all the way down the 170cm length of the wall and onto the floor. The connotations I want this to conjure up consist of rotting, decay of fake nature, with references of music and Gothic iconography.
