The River, 2011

This piece was made for the exhibition 'becoming...' in Cardiff, September 2011. I took a part of the song 'Ol' Man River' which the singer and civil rights activist Paul Robeson re-wrote and repeat-printed it within the shape of the River Taff as it runs through Cardiff. I hand-printed each letter in acrylic and ink from wooden typeblocks onto calico.

Occupies an area 750cm x 200cm

Calico, acrylic & ink. Printed from wooden typeblocks

£2000
