Persephone [Among Torches of Darkness] # 2 eludes the usual narrative of serial victimhood associated with myth and depictions of abduction and implies that some aspects of the underworld could be relished. Elements of the painting, but not its meaning, were suggested by "Bavarian Gentians" by D H Lawrence.
