Impossible Buildings, - 2009

Impossible Buildings is the result of a commissioned artist project by Art on the Underground, 2009. Impossible Buildings: Interpreting Place is a social engagement project with London Underground staff and students from The Charter School exploring Southwark Station's architecture and the local environment through activities based on looking, drawing, and making. The pencil drawing, inspired by expeditions and discussions around Southwark, is drawn from cardboard models made by participants. The work investigates the relationship between imagination and place, and is developed as a response to the ways in which we interpret and construct place both physically and psychologically.
