Alpha, 2011

This collage is part of series called Litterati using the phonetic alphabet as titles and material found on the streets of London. The oldest letter in the alphabet is "O" used by the Phoenicians in 1500BC. This is my interpretation of the Alpha Male. His nose is obviously phallic, his expression illusive and poker faced, the line of his silhouette is the cutting edge between the confrontation of this man and all others who are "beyond the pale". Red is also, by scientific research, seen by others as the most dominant, aggressive and superior colour. His ears are merely sweet wrappers. They hear nothing and no one. This is a Jungian archetype.
