Weaving through Metal IV, 2005 - 2006

Weaving through Space' is a series of sculptures, which explore the process of weaving in the context of architecture. The project draws on Gottfried Semper's 'Four Elements of Architecture' theory, which explains the origins of architecture through anthropology. The four elements relate to Ceramics, Weaving, Carpentry and Stone Masonry. Within his theory Semper argues that woven screens were the first spatial dividers.

The project explored the characteristics and techniques of weaving through materials commonly associated with the construction industry: Glass, Concrete, Metal, and Timber.
