Greenhorn Greetings, 2011

Live performance for The North Stars Series: White, .NO galley, Lower East Side, New York City.

see no-in-nyc.org

I stood still as a living sculpture in the space as the exhibition opened, for about 45 min. Then I proceeded to curtsy the audience, one by one, while moving though the space, branches breaking. In the end I took off my trousers and left them on the floor with the leftover branches still in, before putting on a dress, curtsying again, and joining the audience.

I wore oilcloth trousers with holes where branches had been stuck trough (with the help of Shannon Cochrane and Rune Olsen). In my mouth i held a wooden flute which emphasised my breathing, and on my finger a ring made with a tiny cowbell.

55 mins

costume, branches, wooden flute, small cowbell and audience.
