Beacon#1 is part of a series of Temporary public Artworks and interventions around Shiregreen; a large housing estate in the North of Sheffield. The artworks draw attention to the much loved 1930's lampposts and to start debate on their future during major public realm improvements. rednile are now working closely with Planit Landscape Architects to reuse 80 of the lampposts as as signage that will each contain a unique painted image gathered from the community.
