Institute of Play, 2010

Commissioned by the V&A Museum of Childhood, 'Institute of Play' consists of 3000 tulip wood blocks each sprayed white and cut to reveal the natural grain of the wood. The work focuses on the connections between art and architecture, children's play bricks and architectural toys. The individual pieces are stacked to create a miniature cityscape, with references to early Modernism, Minimalism and Constructivism.
