All The Books I have Never Finished, 2010

Solo Exhibition at The Gallery of Wonder, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

These book works represent a personal catalogue system devised by the artist; all the books I have never finished is a dual investigation of unread books and unfinished binding of books. The works also investigate the role of women in traditional bookbinding, whose restrictions in making books (confined to sewing and folding) mirrored that of their domestic roles.

These sculptures were all made with only tools that were used by women; a bonefolder, needle and thread.
