Sophie Bower

Along with fellow artist educator, Kathryn Pattullo, I was commissioned by John Moores University's to represent them as part of the Superlambananas trail across the city. Rather than treat the object as sculpture alone, we divided the piece into numbered sections - much like the diagram of a butcher's cuts. We set up a poster campaign and a website to encourage people from the area to nominate an individual or an organisation to take 'ownership' of 1 of the 55 sections. Successful nominees received a certificate as 'proof' of ownership.
