Katriona Beales

A series of plasticine covered vinyl records sleeves, focusing on deconstructing and reconstructing the face so as to create a sense of the uncanny and unhemlich. Besides the clothing only the eyes are left from the original image, peering out from underneath strangely grotesque shapes.

Exhibited at the Maerz Artist Association, Linz, Austria as part of Liverpool-Linz exhibition with POST July to September 2010. The image is an installation shot from the exhibition with accompanying close-ups of individual pieces. maerz.at
