Branches - window panel, 2009

This is a window panel consisting of 15 smaller panes, each consisting of glass or mirror sandblasted with tree silhouettes. There is a frosted sheet covering the whole window which diffuses the tree images making them blurry. Within this frosted front sheet there are small water-jet cut holes which allow a glimpse of the sharp image behind. The panel interacts with lighting conditions and so is constantly changing. In full sun a shadow of the sandblasted branches imagery projects onto the front layer of glass. This shadow appears, disappears and moves with the changing natural light. At night time the piece makes a positive to negative reversal in terms of light and dark areas.

This piece can be made to commission in variable dimensions and with unique bespoke tree imagery.

Price varies depending on size required.
