Arad, 2007

Arad is a documented action created in response to the building of a Liquid Nitrogen Gas pipeline from Haverfordwest to Gloucester. The action of pulling a harpist across the sight of the pipe, a futile and at times humorous gesture responding to further investment in energy production and the sources and effects of the industries on he landscape and communities. The poet and environmental campaigner Robert Minhinnick wrote in the accompanying catalog to the exhibition which featured Arad and other works 'Almost all my work in the environment movement has concerned energy issues. I'm experienced enough to know there's no simple solution o our energy requirements. The LNG issue in Wales is a prime example of how not to proceed, especially the way local people were not properly consulted' . Arad is a documented action lasting twenty minutes and was a collaboration with Harpist Delyth Jenkins.
