Stairway to Heaven, 2006

Stairway to Heaven was a self initiated project that aimed to challenge the status quo by postulating a project that applied the Disability Discrimination Act to a natural site, Haytor in Dartmoor National Park. A collaboration with architects Childs and Sulzmann produce plans and documentation of a path and stairlift up this mountainous feature that would enable wheelchair users to reach the top. This became the subject of planning application to the Park authority. Public and institutional commentary was captured as part of the planning process, through the web and through a solo show of the work at Dartington College of Art.
