Rose Rose

To compose another 'composition' using objects from my studio and sitting room [ as opposed to spending time seaching for materials far and wide]. This image arose from a sense of release when considering the concept of personal "family- history" [with known history dating back to the sixteenth century]it was a way of letting go of the past. Coming across a solarized photo of my great-grandmother [which had haunted me for decades because of its obscure genealogy], I chose to merge it with other personal 'keep-sakes' and an old 'T-Square' from art-student days I had kept for decades. I added lace bobbins and a magnifying glass. The photograph was presented upside-down to indicate a reversal of any sense of nostalgia.
