OBJECTS OF DESIRE 18:' A 'language game' is possible only if one trusts something'. [Wittgenstein]., 2010 - 2011
For a while I had dreamed away the MIND-BODY split whilst making this 'assemblage'.....In its place is a world of surreal objects placed in close proximity to each other. I was thinking of William Blake's JERUSALEM with "....Bring me my arrows of desire - bring me my bow of burning gold...."
But, whilst making this work in the studio I was simultameously reminded of of my childhood where escape into the world of 'the imagination' could create all that one's heart desires! It this way it is a strongly autobiographical piece.
Background reading:Michel Foucault: 'Technologies of the Self' [1988] + Immanual Kant: 'Groundwork of the Metaphysic of Experience' [1738] + Wittgenstein's 'Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus'.
