In these new works I have taken double exposed photographs taken in the Lake District on traditional film, and by working these images up into a mirrored companion drawing, I have created an illusion of an apex with surrounding vistas that could never exist. They evoke memories of the mountain in whose shadow I lived under as a child whilst growing up in Iran. It is intrinsically associated to feelings of joy, loss and longing. This is an ongoing fascination I have with 'land' and 'light', 'paradise' and 'the garden'. I was recently awarded an Arts Council England Award for research and development to aid me in the production of this new work.
