Townley and Bradby

The Conversational Library, 2010

The image shows a book about Virginia Woolf in situ, on someone's desk. The book forms part of the on-loan stock of The Conversational Library. This is an on-going project to find a physical representation for conversations: if there is a book on Townley and Bradby's shelves that is relevant in some way to a conversation they have had, then they post this book to the interlocutor soon after the conversation. The book is a long-term loan. A catalogue of all the books on loan is circulated regularly amongst all the borrowers, who may then request any of the other books out on loan. A side benefit for Townley and Bradby is that they get free external storage for their books.

23 books, 23 on-going conversations
