In this series of work based on coloured stripes and bands Joanna explores a reoccurring interest in pattern and repetitive cellular structures found in woven fabric, brickwork and so on. She draws inspiration from colour, shape and mark found within the environment and employs colour combinations noted in her sketch book, like that of acid yellow lichen incised by a deep chrome green on a ground of bleached white stone.
