We Felt As Though We Had Landed on Mars, 2009

This drawing installation was developed after a residency in Nigeria that was cut short due to factional violence. These drawings are made using a discarded piece of basket found on the floor of a market. The installation is inspired by the red earth, rocky terrain and highly embellished Nigerian fabrics.
