Twist, 2009

A private commission to use a branch of a old (200 year?) cherry tree from clients garden, which had to be chopped down due to old age and rot. The sculpture emerged from the shapes inherent in the branch, after removing some rotten areas. It is a new life for the wood and has a flame like feel - the phoenix.

63cm x 20cm x 20cm

Cherry wood - Purbeck marble base
