The Annunciation, 2009

A large canvassed panel depicting a flying male earwig in pure new wool yarns with gold leaf against a painted cloud banked sky. In the traditions of the renaissance the concept is a voice, a vision or a statement foretelling a portentous development, the Earwig was considered to be a creature who could burrow into the very mind of the host ear and thereby whisper the words or the music that you just cannot get out of your head.
