Powerhouse was an 8 week continuous word association game staged at Cambridge University Library as part of a 'Space for 10' residency at Kettle's Yard. A chain of 483 dominant word associations selected from over 7,000 on site and online submissions were displayed above the door in the entrance hall of the library. Words were colour-coded by gender and origin. The project is documented by way of an index (see: www.powerhouse.me.uk and go to 'word associations') and a time-lapse film (Bettina Furnée & Tim Sidell 2009).
