Artsparkle 04, 2004 - 2005

The first 'Vitrine' project was this collaboration with 'Artsparkle', an artist-led group focusing on artists' multiples. The Vitrine sites around central Leeds were used to display a range of multiples, with each designed to reflect the area's demographic and its position within the shopping hierarchy. I contributed the 'Bud' multiple (see the Multiples folder for more information), which was shown in varying ways at the Merrion Centre (low-end shopping plaza), The Light (high-end shopping plaza) and Leeds Rail Station. A mail-order catalogue accompanied the exhibition, with an essay by novelist Jake Arnott on the shopping boom in Leeds during the 1990s.
