A letterpress print of text on found paper. The poster says ''WE ARE FOR US'' and is taken from some writing that I did for my web site. This is printed onto the print side of an unused billboard that had a photograph of a stone wall on it.I can imagine these words being interpreted as a positive statement by socialists or people who might be described as left-wing. I sometimes want the messages that I make in my work to be more definitive but whatever my intentions are I cannot seem to find a way preventing alternative readings. These words come from a ranting mission statement that I wrote for an imaginary corporation that makes glowing objects or people and pretends to care about it''s customers but is only concerned for itself.I enjoy the opportunity for multiple interpretations of my work and I play with that but I also want to be able to make explicit statements that say ''Capitalists do not care about anyone but themselves.'' But this does not seem to have the same impact.
