Stuart Mugridge

This poster is part of a group work – 'Holding The Edge'. The work was produced as a part of a career development programme entitled MADE in Eastside. With the benefit of a series of training, lectures and workshops I began to unravel the various elements at play in the regeneration of this site at the 'industrial heart of Birmingham'.

I couldn't help but see the similarities to a battle (or a mock-up of a battle at least) with the clumsily over-arching orchestrations of the local authority attempting to manoeuvre elements into an acceptable look whilst the divergent dynamics of progress, industry, residential development, 'leave us alone', nature, transport, etc. keep everything going in circles.
