Arms of Lilia (1&2), 2005 - 2006

Arms of Lilia (1 & 2), have been stitched from unbleached, fair trade, organic cotton. The colour has resulted from the pieces being submerged, in the iron-rich waters that mark the boundary of the farm where I made the work. The tribal-mask-like imagery, stitched into the hangings, mirror the pattern of an ancient Roman defence system, Lilia pits.
