The sense of movement of the swaying 'trees' fascinated me when I saw this image through the microscope. By mixing two chemical compounds together during an experiment, this river scene was recrystallised. I captured the main scene by photomicrography. The photograph inspired the painting. A few extra reflections have been added in the foreground, and a couple of distant 'trees' that are patterns of copper sulphate.
