Undercurrent, 2001

Net fabric squares are folded diagonally as a shawl or headscarf. These are laid on the floor so that they overlap forming an area of shadowy black. From the front the work appears to hover above the ground, from the back the net appears as a thick mist or fog over the ground. Associations include a moving shadow, darkness, a stealth plane, a bat, a predator, swooping, a strong current, waves, a film of fluid, a spillage, oil, pollution, mist and fog.
