The New Building, 2005

The inspiration for this building is drawn from traditional fairground art, translating a decorative motif through a CAD drawing programme to create a fully (virtual) three dimensional space; then reducing it again through the collaging of Fablon, to a subtle three dimensional surface.  Fablon, Plain Frosted, is collaged onto both sides of the window, in order to try and capture the space of the building within the window.  Window film is used to prevent you seeing. Here, it does both.  It makes something appear, and obscures whats on the other side.
