Penny Hampson

Tile design for floor of learner pool inside the newly built Exe Valley Leisure Centre, using computer aided manufacturing with specified non-slip swimming pool tiles in collaboration with S&P Leisure Architects for Exe Valley District Council.  The designs are based on childrens' drawings influenced by stone carvings on St Peter's Church, Tiverton, Devon; The 15th Century carvings depict a local wool merchant's fleet of ships.

This commission included a five day residency with a local primary school, plus consultation with the lead artist, the council steering group, the elected council and the public.
